Day 10 Thursday 6th May
nr Hosta to Ordiarp 12 miles
In a huge bed under a warm duvet I went out like a light after such a wet day. While I slept my belongings dried by the remains of the fire and snow fell on my plans. Over breakfast I decided to take the road,
following a lower path and arranged a suitable bed for the night. Kimi took me back to the road at the closest point to Hosta and off I toddled. It was easy walking, the road not too busy and the weather dry at least. But it wasn't going to be solo. Soon after starting out I was joined by "Eki" the dog on the photo. Super friendly but a total liability running all over the road. I couldn't gt him to go home and after about 5 miles phoned the number on his collar tag. Eventually his owner responded to the message and came to collect him.
I walked on enjoying the fabulous views and arrived chez Mme Bouillon soon after 4pm to be presented with a choice - alone on the top floor flat (unheated) with food brought up to me or downstairs with Monsieur and Madame (heated), a bath and join them for Mme's 70th birthday dinner. No contest. They welcomed me as a family member so warmly. I ate, drank and slept so well and conversed not quite so well. And all for 26€. Incroyable! And today it's glorious sunshine and quiet country lanes.
